History

1918 ounding of the Bernhardt & Schulte Company for the manufacture of switches for installation purposes.
1932 Appliance switches for the new electric cookers and other household appliances are included in the expanded production program.
1940 Member of the VDE with Ref. No. 136, first mark approval for a rotary switch on19.08.1940.
1949 First plastic pressing plant for the manufacture of typified TS plastics for the manufacture of insulation parts for switch production and for molded parts such as rotary knobs is installed.
1951 The first heating appliance switches on a plastic basis join the ceramic-base switches in general use up to this date.
1963 TP injection-molded parts are now included in the expanded product range.
1964 Newly developed injection-molding machines mark the start of production of industrial plastic
parts in Duroplast (TS - thermosetting) plastics.
1965 Plant No. 2, a plastic pressing plant and assembly department, is built at Steinwiesen/Upper Franconia.
1968 50th Anniv. of the founding of the Company.
1974 eating appliance switches with spring-type plug-in terminals are included as new products in the program.
1982 Series 3000 switches.
1996 Introduction of the QS system according to DIN EN-ISO 9001:1994
1997 Series 4000 switches.
1998 Series 3100/3600 switches.
1999 New plant at Steinwiesen.
2002 Series 5000 switches.
2003 Introduction of the QS system specified by
DIN EN-ISO 9001:2000. Introduction of the UM system specified by DIN EN-ISO 14001.
2009 Introduction of the QM system specified by DIN EN-ISO 9001:2008
